I can finally experiment with my computer without worrying about.anything. Acronis TrueImage however, worked beautifully, without a single problem. I recently bought a new computer that has a RAID 0 configuration, and I when I tried using Norton Ghost 9 to try to restore an image, Ghost wouldn’t read the RAID configured disks, and on the Symantec website, it says that Ghost 9 works with RAID 0. I used Norton Ghost 9 on my previous computer on which it worked with no problem. Pros: This is one great piece of software.

Overall Review: If all you are going to do is boot to the Acronis CD, you don't need to install it in Windows which means you don't need the serial #. That would encourage me to backup more frequently if it was as simple as popping in a CD and cliking one icon. It would be nice if it had a one-button clone where you just click Clone and it begins the procedure instead of having to click "next" on half a dozen screens to get it to start. You can either boot to the Acronis CD, or if that doesn't work install it in Windows and start Clone from there (it will reboot into a pre-windows environment to run the clone which means all RAID configurations are supported even though the documentation says it only supports RAID 0).Ĭons: Doing anything other than a clone is risky - you can wind up with a corrupt backup. That method works perfectly and creates a complete mirror image of your hard drive including OS, data, registry, everything. Instead of using it in Backup mode, use it with an external hard drive and use Clone mode. Pros: So many people who are making backups to an image file, to a CD, or to DVD have problems.

Aronis save me a ton of time having away to just do a complete restore of all my software on 1 DVD, nice. i usally use about 10 to 30 different types of software and drivers. Then if for some reason you need to reinstall Windows XP again later, you will have to go through this again, No Thank you, i will Use Acronis true image 9 and make a back up DVD with all the new updates and any other software i uses.

i had 89 new file to be update in windows updates. Overall Review: Hear is a thought if after about 2 years you need to reinstall windows XP it could take 2 to 3 hours to reinstall windows XP why you mite ask, because it usually takes about 1 hour to install windows XP, and then you need to hit the windows update button that takes you to the interent and downloads all of windows updates that takes about 1 to 2 hours to do. So I did, The image file restored every thing, it was perfect no missing files at all, it restored the drive entirely without any issues! What a rewarding feeling! Thank you Acronis True image 9 The backup went cleanly and fast, I thought almost to fast just 4 minutes.
